Terms of Service

The rules for using mdkit.io — written to be readable, not to hide things.

Last updated: April 15, 2026

1. Acceptance

By accessing or using mdkit.io (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

mdkit provides a browser-based Markdown editor, converters (Markdown to HTML, HTML to Markdown, Markdown to PDF), a library of Markdown templates, and editorial content. All tools run in your browser; we do not store user-submitted content.

3. License to use the Service

We grant you a personal, worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for personal or commercial purposes, subject to these Terms.

4. Your content

You retain all rights to any Markdown, HTML, PDF, or other content you create, paste, or convert using the Service (“Your Content”). Because the Service runs in your browser, we do not receive, store, or process Your Content on our servers.

You are solely responsible for Your Content and for ensuring that you have the rights necessary to use it with the Service.

5. Templates and blog content

Markdown templates provided on mdkit.io are free to copy, modify, and use for personal or commercial projects, with no attribution required.

Blog posts, guides, and other editorial content on mdkit.io are © the mdkit Team. You may quote short excerpts with attribution, but please do not reproduce full articles without permission. Email contact@mdkit.io for licensing.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
  • Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or degrade the Service or the servers or networks connected to it.
  • Use automated systems (scrapers, bots) to extract content at volumes that burden our infrastructure.
  • Misrepresent your affiliation with mdkit or the mdkit Team.
  • Remove or obscure copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices.

7. Advertising and third-party services

The Service may display advertisements served by Google AdSense or other ad networks, and may use analytics providers such as Google Analytics. Your use of the Service is also subject to the terms and privacy policies of those providers, as described in our Privacy Policy.

8. No warranty

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. mdkit does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or produce specific results.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event shall mdkit, its contributors, or the mdkit Team be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages (including loss of data, profits, or goodwill) arising from or related to your use of the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitations of liability, in which case the above may not apply to you to the fullest extent.

10. Third-party content and links

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or resources. We do not endorse and are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of any third party.

11. Modifications

We may modify these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above, and where appropriate we will provide additional notice. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.

12. Termination

We may suspend or discontinue the Service (or any part of it) at any time, with or without notice. You may stop using the Service at any time.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the mdkit Team operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction, unless mandatory local consumer law provides otherwise.

14. Contact
